The New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) has posted a proposal to open and co-locate a new elementary site of P.S. Q255 (75Q255) in building Q011 (Q011), to be called P255Q@Q011, beginning in the 2022-2023 school year.
Q011 is located at 54-25 Skillman Avenue, Queens, NY 11377 in Community School District 30. If this proposal is approved, P255Q@Q011 will open and be co-located with P.S.11 Kathryn Phelan (30Q011). A co-location means that two or more schools are located in the same building and may share common spaces, such as auditoriums, gymnasiums, libraries, and cafeterias.
There is no expected impact on the P.S. Q255 site that your student currently attends.
This proposal must be voted on and approved by the PEP prior to implementation. We anticipate that the PEP will vote on this proposal on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 6 p.m. at Long Island City High School, located at 14-30 Broadway, Queens, NY 11106. Feedback about this proposal may be shared at the March 23, 2022 PEP meeting.
In advance of the PEP vote, a Joint Public Hearing for this proposal will be held in building Q011 on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 6 p.m. All community members will have the opportunity to share feedback about this proposal at the Joint Public Hearing. Feedback about this proposal may also be shared at any time by e-mailing D30proposals@schools.nyc.gov or by calling 212-374-7621.
Thank you very much, Ketler Louissaint District 75 Superintendent
